ATA‑21Next & ATA‑41 trans‑alkylation catalysts

ATA‑21Next and ATA‑41 catalysts are used in aromatics complexes. The incorporation of a trans-alkylation unit into an aromatics complex can more than double the yield of paraxylene from naphtha feedstock.

ATA‑21Next and ATA‑41 provide:

  • high conversion (high benzene and xylene selectivity);
  • low operating temperatures (saving energy);
  • low by-product formation;
  • high benzene purity that meets today’s industry standards; and
  • catalyst stability and longer cycles.

A selective hydrogenation function preserves the aromatic content of the feed, reducing hydrogen consumption and the production of small hydrocarbon molecules, along with associated greenhouse gas emissions.

Results include:

  • lower operating temperatures (saving energy);
  • high feed efficiency;
  • reduced CO₂ emissions;
  • higher xylene production yields;
  • lower heavies and gas make; and
  • longer cycles.
