PLASTIC CIRCULARITY ON-DEMAND WEBINAR

Plastic waste & biomass gasification:

An enabling technology for the energy transition

Producing more circular, low-carbon and bio-based products and fuels from biomass and plastic waste streams is increasingly necessary for refiners and petrochemical companies. Meanwhile, plastic waste recycling rates must increase, however both mechanical recycling and chemical recycling through pyrolysis are constrained by, for example, the presence of contaminants.

Fortunately, if you have a gasification unit in your line-up you can now process many of the waste plastic streams that other recycling options cannot, including un-sortable plastic waste.

The key enabler is a new, innovative pre-conversion technology that sits ahead of the gasifier. As it allows the processing of hard-to-recycle waste plastic and also biomass, it can unlock a broader, more sustainable product slate including circular plastics and chemicals, low-carbon hydrogen and bio-based synthetic fuels. In this way, you can stay competitive through the energy transition – and with relatively little capital investment.
