CANSOLV CO2

CANSOLV CO2 is a leading Shell technology for gas treating and carbon dioxide (CO2) recovery. The patented solution utlises a regenerable amine that offers cutting-edge performance, including low parasitic energy consumption, fast kinetics, extremely low volatility and resilience to degradation in oxygen containing gas streams. It can help energy producers, industrial clusters and related industries meet environmental and regulatory specifications. The technology has captured more than 5 million tonnes of CO2 from the Saskpower Boundary Dam facility in Canada.

CO2 capture technologies will be critical for achieving the aims of the energy transition by mitigating scopes 1 and 2 emissions. Lowering the carbon intensity of operations is a key focus of resource holders, power suppliers and manufacturers across the globe. Not only do these technologies offer organisations the opportunity to mitigate the impact of their operations on the atmosphere and environment, but also permit them to sell or reuse pure CO2 as a marketable by-product.
