Sulphur removal system

Sulphur removal systems help refiners ensure their products meet regulatory and environmental specifications. Gas reserves are often rich in hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and other sulphur species which, depending on operating conditions, can result in emissions of sulphur oxides into the atmosphere as particulate matter. Sulphur removal systems, especially those with recovery efficiencies as high as 99%, prevent those harmful emissions and turn what would have been process waste into a marketable by-product.

Shell Catalysts & Technologies offers a wide range of sulphur removal technologies that can be integrated parts of complex gas cleaning line-ups. These technologies provide safe, reliable and proven sulphur recovery that is economically viable and environmentally responsible. Proprietary gas treating line-up designs that emphasise simplicity help keep costs down while maximising recovery flexibility. Claus, SCOT, SCOT ULTRA, sulphur degassing and THIOPAQ O&G sulphur recovery technologies secure gas production and ensure natural gas resource holders and refiners adhere to stringent sulphur dioxide (SO2) standards.
