Renewable jet fuel

Renewable jet fuel, also referred to as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), is produced from renewable resources like biomass which leads to a reduction in overall net life cycle carbon dioxide emissions. When renewable jet fuel is blended with conventional jet fuel, it still meets the Active Standard Specification for Aviation Turbine Fuels (ASTM) D1655. This specification describes the necessary qualities and characteristics of aviation turbine fuel for civil use.

Shell Catalysts & Technologies licenses the Shell Renewable Refining Process to its customers that are interested in becoming renewable fuel producers. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies to produce lower-carbon fuels, energy producers can support their transition towards cleaner energy and improve environmental stewardship.
